Aventerra Court Residence — Springbank, Rocky View County

This custom acreage home in the Aventerra Estates area was designed around one of the trickiest lots we’ve worked with — a sloped site with geometry that pulled the house in conflicting directions. Local guidelines pushed for wider side yards and a shallower front setback, while the slope suggested tucking the building back, which would have required heavy backfill and footings sitting above grade.

The solution was a stepped design that balances the rules with the realities of the land. The residence stretches over two main levels with a walkout basement below, placing the garage, mudroom, and service spaces to brace the uphill side while opening family living areas and decks to the south-facing views.

The main floor brings together an open kitchen, dining, and great room, with a master suite and office nearby. Upstairs, secondary bedrooms share a loft-style retreat, while the lower level adds recreation, guest space, and direct yard access.

The exterior pairs light stucco with dark stone and metal accents, framed by broad decks, retaining walls, and landscaped terraces that knit the house into the hillside.
